“When I was growing up, it was never my dream to come home one day and work with my dad,” remembers Gollob Morgan Peddy Partner Greg Richbourg. Greg’s father, Vince Richbourg, had a well-established accounting practice in Tyler.

After high school, Greg went off to Texas Tech and did end up an accounting major. “It just seemed to be a good fit. I liked the classes, and of course, there was some accounting influence there too.”

After college Greg was part of the first start up group of Ernst & Young in their San Antonio office. He would later leave public accounting to become Director of Financial Reporting and Internal Auditor at Harte Hanks.

“After six years at Harte Hanks, I was ready to move back home,” remembers Greg, “It has been a real blessing to work alongside my dad since 1998.”

In 2014 Richbourg & Associates became part of Gollob Morgan Peddy, and Greg joined the firm as a partner. The transition has been a good one for Greg and GMP.

“If I was going to rank the reasons I love my job,” says Greg, “I would start with the people I work with. It is such a great, diverse group of people here, and that helps to keep the office a fun and vibrant place to work.”

“The other thing I love about my job is helping to solve problems for our clients."

"Finding the best solutions… putting together a complicated puzzle like a tax return is something I enjoy. You know there’s no one right way to do it. Finding the right option for our clients is always a rewarding challenge.”

Greg and his wife, Christy, have two children, Bradley and Ryan. He enjoys outdoor activities including camping and hunting. He also enjoys cheering on the boys at their baseball and basketball games and Christy as a triathlete and marathoner. The entire family is involved with the Tyler Catholic School Community.
