Shane Rohrbach

Partner

Accounting wasn’t the first dream for GMP Partner Shane Rohrbach. “I had two years of engineering,” says Rohrbach, “After sitting through classes, working through problems, I figured out I really hated engineering. My brother suggested I take accounting principles. I took it and loved it.”

Shane joined the staff of Gollob Morgan Peddy right after school. 20 years later, he was elected to take over as Managing Partner after founder Tony Morgan decided to retire.

“It was the people, the environment, the way the partners invested in you that impressed me the most,” says Rohrbach, “I decided early on I wanted to build my career at GMP.”

Shane has extensive experience in advising closely held businesses and the families that own them. He has provided services to clients in a variety of industries, including real estate, agriculture, oil and gas and high-net-worth individuals. The major areas of expertise provided to his clients include income and estate tax planning.

As Partner, Shane wants to continue to build what he calls a “legacy firm.” “We have clients now that are third- and fourth-generation clients,” says Rohrbach, “We want to build a legacy that continues to pass off those generational relationships in the future. That’s how you become a trusted advisor.”

Shane also believes investing in the lives of the staff, much like his experience right out of college, is part of the legacy-firm vision he has for the future of GMP.

“We all are where we are because someone cared enough to take the time to come alongside us and teach, train, and invest in our future,” says Shane, “Each of us now has a responsibility to invest in this new generation of accountants.”

Out of the office Shane enjoys spending time with his wife, Jodie, and three children, Carter, Kinley and Teagan. They enjoy traveling together. Shane also enjoys backpacking in the mountains with friends and hunting. He also believes in giving back to the community, serving various charitable organizations. He and his family are also passionate about their church, Central Baptist – Tyler.
